



Members' Best Exhibits -Enjoy the artwork of Arts Council members’ on view and for sale at the following sites: An Optical Galleria, Cottage Cuts, Delmarva Financial Group, PNC Bank, Prudential Properties, QAC Community Partnerships for Children, and The Centreville National Bank, all in downtown Centreville, and Lehman Larue Salon in Chester. Exhibits rotate quarterly and there are public art receptions for each installation. Members’ Best Receptions are an evening of public art receptions for our exhibit artists. Quarterly receptions are held to introduce you to our artist members and participating businesses. Public receptions will be from 5 to 6:30 pm at all Centreville locations, and 6:30-7:30 at Lehman*Larue Salon, Chester on the following dates: May 15, 2008 Sep 25, 2008 Dec 11, 2008 |

APRIL
1 - May 30: New Perspectives Exhibit: the Centre for the Arts in Centreville hosts this exhibit by the Photography Club of the Benedictine School. Proceeds benefit both organizations. Public reception on May 15 from 5 to 6:30 pm. Free and open to the public. Exhibit hours are M-F 9 am. 5 pm.
12: Dance Party - Samba in Spring: 7 - 11PM Join former dance champion Amanda Showell at the Centre for the Arts in Centreville for a night of Latin dancing. Early Bird Samba lesson 7 8 followed by a Ballroom & Latin dance party. Open to the public, dressy casual attire. Tickets are available at the door. 15: Grant Workshop: 5:30PM This is the 22nd year that The Arts Council is making grant awards to the community, supporting cultural activities, by offering grants to schools and organizations to provide eligible arts programming which include dance, music, puppetry, historical characterizations presented in the schools and performance and operational expenses. The Grant Workshop provides assistance in the application process for upcoming Artists in Education (AiE mandatory for applicants) and Community Arts Development (CAD). Grant applications are available online at www.arts4u.info. The Grant Workshop will be held at the Centre for the Arts, 206 South Commerce Street in Centreville. 1: Scholarship Application Deadline: Two $1,000, arts scholarships are available through the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council for seniors from Queen Anne’s or Kent Island High Schools planning to study visual arts, music, dance or drama full-time in college in the fall of 2008. Scholarship applications are available at each high school and at the Centre for the Arts in Centreville during regular business hours. 410.758.2520.
